Financial Literacy

Financial Foundations for Wealth Creation focuses on the ability to manage personal finances through education about basic budgeting, investing, personal credit, real estate, retirement and tax planning. In this course, students will learn to evaluate barriers to entry and potential markets using decision-making tools like cash flow statements and budgets.

In this unit students will develop an understanding of how their financial psychology relates to achieving their financial and lifestyle goals. Financial Psychology and Behavioral Finance examines how deep-seated financial beliefs established early in life can subconsciously drive financial decisions. Students will be set free from victim mentality through teachings on how to take control of your finances and manage internal thoughts and emotions that can prevent you from being in control of your cash.

In this segment students will focus on understanding the basics of money management including: setting up and managing a monthly budget, determining wants vs needs, finding and plugging spending leaks, money personality, recognizing spending triggers and money saving tips.

In this section students will develop an understanding of insurance and ways to manage risk. Within this instruction, participants will learn about the various types of insurance including medical, car, and renter’s life and will understand why purchasing insurance is necessary.

In this unit students will identify the correlation between their credit history and their financial reputation as well as develop a basic understanding of what credit history is and how to maintain, build or repair their credit. Students will develop an understanding of loans and the loan qualification process. Students will gain awareness of types of debt, investment in one’s education and the dangers of defaulting on loans.

In this unit students will understand the negative effects of poor money management and how it keeps us from financial independence. Additionally, this course explores how to conquer your finances, eliminate debt, and remain debt- free! Students will be required to create their own personalized game plan to eliminate various types of debt, including credit cards, student loans, auto loans, mortgages, and much more.

In this unit students gain an understanding of the current economic and operations of the housing market. This segment is divided into four sections: supply and demand for housing, including the operations of homebuilders and rental landlords; house prices, including cycles and price dynamics; selling property in the current economy; and public policy and analysis applied to current housing markets-related issue like foreclosures.

In this unit participants will gain an understanding of what investing is. Within these lessons they will learn about a variety of investment strategies and techniques to increase long-term financial security.

This unit provides students with an overview of taxes, how they affect one’s take-home pay, and how to budget accordingly. Students will build an in- depth understanding of the taxation process to build financial literacy.

In this unit students are provided with an overview of retirement designed for those in the early stages of retirement or those about to retire. This course will walk you through difficult retirement decisions such as asset allocation, income planning & pitfalls to avoid. Students will also receive financial tools to help you better understand risk, taxes, budgeting, & estate planning.

In this unit students will gain an understanding of the importance of long-term planning. Within this instruction, students will learn the importance of cash flow, personal financial plans, wills and trusts. Exploration of money, lifestyle choices and relationships will help participants proactively prepare for their financial future.
