Quilen Blackwell is a Joseph Business School alumni, the president and founder of the nonprofit Chicago Eco House, and CEO and owner of Southside Blooms, a farm-to-vase florist on Chicago’s South Side. His business turns vacant lots in
the economically challenged Englewood community into flower farms that give employment and hope to local youth community members. Quilen's business has been highlighted multiple times by media such as NBC's Today Show and the Chicago
Tribune for the innovative work his organization is doing.
